Mycomport : Testimonial 1

CoastCall, a project funded by the Federal Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, was charged with the job of finding a portal system that would meet the needs of the Mid North Coast Region of New South Wales. The Mid North Coast comprises 8 local government areas.

Our goal was to find a system that allowed us to:
· List all businesses and organisations within the region;
· Allow a means for users to interact with the system, both in terms of updating their business and organisational listings but also in terms of facilitating discussion both in the local areas and within the region as a whole;
· Allow for calendars of events to be available at both a local and regional level;
· Allowed for the searching of just the portal;
· Was easy to use for administrators and for normal users;
· Was flexible enough to cope with changes in priority; and
· Met our budget.

After a serious search of Australian and overseas systems we found that Mycomport best met our needs in terms of its

· Extensive, flexible and dynamic portal system
· Understanding of user needs
· Responsiveness to our needs.

Since using the system we have been impressed with the support we have received, particularly at the technical level as we gained insight and experience into the flexibility and power of the system.
